<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The reading ability of primary school students is still low, and there are still many elementary school students who are not fluent in speed reading. Therefore, teachers are expected to overcome the problems that occur in students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the role-playing method as a medium to improve students' reading skills. The research method used pre-experiment research with a pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Wonokromo 1 in the 2022 academic year. The research sample was 25 students. Data collection using a reading ability scale. Data analysis using statistical analysis (t-test). The results showed the sig value = 0.000, which means it is smaller than α 0.05 (Ho: rejected and Ha: accepted). The results of the study concluded that the role-playing method can effectively be used as a medium to improve the reading skills of elementary school students. The results of this study contribute as a novelty and study material both theoretically and practically regarding the effectiveness of the role-playing method as a medium to improve the reading skills of elementary school students.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Digital resources have become pivotal in enhancing teaching and learning, particularly in entrepreneurship education. In Nigeria, integrating such resources into Business Education programs is crucial for equipping students with relevant entrepreneurial skills. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the availability and utilization of digital resources for entrepreneurship skills acquisition among final-year Business Education students in Colleges of Education in Anambra State, Nigeria. Method: A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from a sample of 80 final-year students via Google Survey. The questionnaire addressed digital resource availability, usage patterns, and challenges. Hypotheses were tested using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to examine gender differences and the effect of digital resource availability on skill acquisition. Result: Findings revealed that while e-books and online platforms are accessible and integrated into the program, significant challenges remain. These include limited access to high-quality digital materials and persistent issues with internet connectivity, which hinder effective utilization. Conclusion: The study highlights a partially effective integration of digital resources into Business Education programs. To enhance entrepreneurship skill acquisition, it is essential to overcome the identified barriers. Contribution: This study contributes to the discourse on digital education in Nigeria by identifying critical gaps in digital resource availability and utilization. It provides actionable insights for policymakers, educators, and administrators aiming to strengthen entrepreneurship training through improved digital infrastructure and resource access.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: The Igbo language, as one of Nigeria's major indigenous languages, faces challenges in its effective transmission to younger generations. Despite its cultural and academic importance, its teaching and learning in secondary schools encounter various obstacles that affect students’ proficiency and interest. Objective: This study aims to examine the key factors influencing the teaching and learning of the Igbo language in secondary schools in Onitsha North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria. Method: A descriptive survey design was employed. Data were collected from both teachers and students through structured instruments to capture the diverse elements affecting language instruction and acquisition in real classroom contexts. Result: The findings indicate that teacher qualification significantly impacts student performance, with trained Igbo language specialists contributing positively to academic achievement. However, challenges such as lack of instructional materials, insufficient time allocation for language instruction, and mother-tongue interference hinder effective teaching. Additionally, the home environment presents mixed influences while parental support can enhance learning, the prevalent use of non-standard Igbo at home may impede correct usage and understanding. Conclusion: Improving the teaching and learning of Igbo requires addressing both in-school and out-of-school factors. Emphasis must be placed on teacher training, provision of teaching resources, and balanced time management, alongside fostering supportive and linguistically rich home environments. Contribution: This study contributes to the growing body of research on indigenous language preservation and education. It provides practical insights for policymakers, educators, and curriculum planners to develop targeted interventions that strengthen Igbo language education and encourage its sustained use among younger generations.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: In recent years, there has been a renewed emphasis on history education in Nigeria’s basic education curriculum, driven by the recognition of its role in fostering national identity, civic responsibility, and critical thinking among young learners. However, the reintroduction of history as a standalone subject has presented several pedagogical challenges for teachers, particularly in terms of content delivery and resource availability. Objective: This study aims to identify the pedagogical challenges faced by teachers in delivering the reintroduced basic education history curriculum in the Awka Education Zone, Nigeria. Method: A descriptive research design was used, involving 53 history teachers from 53 public secondary schools. Since the population was manageable, no sampling was conducted. 50 completed questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics (Mean and Standard Deviation), and internal consistency was measured using Cronbach Alpha, yielding a reliability score of 0.91. Result: Teachers faced difficulties in teaching differences among pre-colonial Nigerian civilizations, the evolution of the Nigerian state, and the centralization of power and authority. Conclusion: Addressing these teaching challenges requires enhanced support and resources for history educators. Contribution: The study highlights the need for government funding, financial support, and budget allocation to provide materials for student assessment and improve history education quality.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: The widespread use of smartphones among elementary school students has raised concerns about its potential impact on their academic engagement and motivation. Excessive smartphone usage may lead to distractions that negatively affect students' interest in learning. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of limiting smartphone use on students’ learning interest in primary school. Method: The research employed an ex post facto design conducted at SDI Daar Al Iman in 2021. A total of 31 students participated in the study. Data were collected using two scales: one measuring smartphone use restrictions and the other measuring learning interest. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression. Result: The t-test results indicated a significant effect, with a p-value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). This finding suggests a statistically significant influence of limiting smartphone usage on students' learning interest. Conclusion: The study concludes that restricting smartphone use has a positive effect on enhancing students' interest in learning at school. Contribution: The findings of this study provide theoretical and practical insights for teachers, readers, and future researchers, offering a novel perspective on managing technology use to support academic motivation in primary education.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: This study explores the availability and utilization of unprinted (non-textual) educational resources and their impact on teacher job performance in rural and urban technical colleges in Anambra State, Nigeria. Non-printed resources are vital for enhancing teaching effectiveness, particularly in technical education. However, the availability and use of these resources remain challenging, especially in rural schools. Method: A descriptive survey design was employed, with data collected from 343 randomly selected teachers across 15 technical colleges. A structured observational scale assessed the availability (≥50%) and utilization (4-point scale) of non-printed resources. Reliability was tested via a pilot study, and data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result: The study found that urban colleges had higher resource availability (42%) than rural ones (29.6%), but both were below NCCE standards. Utilization of these resources was low in both areas, with mean scores of 1.54 for rural and 2.07 for urban schools. Conclusion: The study concludes that inadequate resource availability and utilization, particularly in rural areas, hinder teaching effectiveness, emphasizing the need for better resource distribution. Contribution: This research highlights the resource disparities between rural and urban technical colleges, offering insights that can inform policies to improve resource allocation and enhance educational outcomes.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Exit exams in higher education serve as a critical mechanism for assessing students' readiness for professional or advanced academic pursuits. These high-stakes assessments are intended to uphold academic and professional standards, promote accountability, and ensure quality across institutions. Objective: This study aims to systematically review the existing literature to evaluate the benefits and challenges of exit exams in higher education, focusing on their effectiveness, equity, and implications for students and institutions. Method: A systematic literature review was conducted, analyzing findings from 33 peer-reviewed studies across various educational contexts. The review examined both quantitative and qualitative evidence on the outcomes and perceptions of exit exams. Results: The review reveals that exit exams contribute positively to transparency, standardization, and alignment with labor market demands. They provide valuable feedback for curriculum development and institutional improvement. Conclusion: While exit exams have the potential to enhance graduate preparedness and institutional accountability, their current implementation often undermines equity and educational depth. A more balanced and inclusive approach is required to address these issues. Contribution: This review offers a comprehensive synthesis of the current discourse on exit exams and provides actionable insights for educators and policymakers. It advocates for integrating formative assessments, enhancing exam design, and prioritizing student well-being to create a more equitable and effective assessment framework in higher education.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Academic retention in Chemistry remains a persistent challenge in Nigerian secondary schools, particularly in abstract topics such as acids, bases, and acid–base reactions, where conventional lecture methods often limit long-term understanding. Objective: This study examined the effect of the Think–Pair–Share (TPS) instructional strategy on senior secondary school students’ academic retention in Chemistry and determined whether gender influenced retention outcomes. Method: A quasi-experimental design was employed. The population comprised 5,714 SS1 Chemistry students in Anambra State, from whom 192 were selected using stratified and simple random sampling. The Chemistry Retention Test (CRT), validated by experts, served as the data-collection instrument. Reliability was established using the Kuder–Richardson Formula 20, yielding an internal consistency coefficient of 0.81. The mean and standard deviation addressed the research questions, and ANCOVA tested the hypotheses at the 0.05 level. Result: Students taught using TPS demonstrated significantly higher retention scores than those taught through the lecture method. No significant gender difference was found within the TPS group. Conclusion: TPS enhances long-term retention in Chemistry regardless of gender. Contribution: The study provides empirical evidence supporting TPS as an effective strategy for improving retention in secondary school Chemistry.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Arabic language instruction has increasingly adopted the integrated system known as Nazhāriyyah Al Wahdah, which conceptualises language as a unified communicative whole rather than separate linguistic components; however, its implementation in diverse higher education contexts remains insufficiently examined. Objective: This study aims to analyse the challenges and identify strategic solutions for applying Nazhāriyyah Al Wahdah at the undergraduate level in the Department of Arabic at The New College, Chennai, India. Method: Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and were analysed using an interactive analytical model. Result; The findings reveal that limited instructional time and the absence of a language laboratory significantly hinder effective skill integration, resulting in uneven student proficiency. While grammar (tarkib) and dialogue (hiwar) demonstrate relatively stronger engagement, listening (istima’), vocabulary application (mufradat), translation, and extended writing (kitabah) remain underdeveloped. Conclusion: Ssuccessful implementation requires institutional alignment, professional teacher competence, and the establishment of an immersive Arabic language environment (bi’ah lughawiyah). Contribution: The research contributes by clarifying the gap between structural and functional integration and by extending the discourse on integrated Arabic pedagogy to a non-Indonesian context.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Pancasila education in elementary schools plays a vital role in instilling foundational national values from an early age. Despite its importance, classroom implementation frequently relies on conventional lecture methods and printed textbooks. Objective: This study aimed to develop Canva-based interactive learning media for teaching Pancasila to fourth-grade students and to evaluate its feasibility and effectiveness in improving students’ engagement and understanding. Method: The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, comprising Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher interviews, student questionnaires, and a literature review. The participants were fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Kleco 1 Surakarta. The developed media was evaluated through feasibility testing and learning outcome assessment. Result: The feasibility assessment yielded an average score of 85%, categorised as excellent feasibility. The implementation results demonstrated an increase in students’ interest in learning and conceptual understanding after using Canva-based interactive media. These findings indicate that the developed media meet quality standards and effectively support Pancasila learning in elementary education. Conclusion: The Canva-based interactive learning media is both feasible and effective for enhancing students’ engagement and comprehension in Pancasila education. Its integration into classroom practice can support more interactive and meaningful learning experiences. Contribution: This study provides empirical evidence that digital interactive media can strengthen student participation and improve understanding of abstract civic values. It also offers a practical reference for educators seeking to integrate accessible technology into elementary school instruction.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: The increasing use of smartphones among elementary school students has raised concerns about their potential impact on learning engagement and academic behaviours, as excessive smartphone use may reduce students’ focus, discipline, and interest in schoolwork. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of limiting smartphone use on students’ learning interest at the elementary level. Method: The research employed an ex post facto design conducted at SMAN 1 Batujajar in 2025, involving 31 students as the research sample. Data were collected using a smartphone use restriction scale and a learning interest scale. Statistical analysis was performed using simple linear regression to determine the influence of smartphone use limitation on students’ learning interest. Results: The t-test showed a p-value of 0.000, which is lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). This indicates that limiting smartphone use has a statistically significant effect on students’ learning interest. Conclusion: Smartphone use restriction contributes positively to improving students’ learning interest. Contribution: This study provides empirical evidence regarding the relationship between smartphone use limitation and learning interest. The findings offer practical implications for teachers and schools in formulating smartphone-use policies and contribute to theoretical discussions of digital behaviour and student engagement in elementary education.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Islamic Religious Education in elementary school plays a vital role in instilling faith, moral values, and religious principles in students from an early age. However, in practice, Islamic Religious Education is often delivered through conventional lecture methods and textbooks, resulting in low student interest and limited understanding of the material, particularly Asmaulhusna. Objective: This study aimed to determine the improvement in students’ Aqidah learning outcomes through the implementation of the Make a Match method at SDN 11 Bengkulu Selatan. Method: This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in three cycles during the first semester of the 2024–2025 academic year, specifically in September. The research subjects consisted of 20 fourth-grade students at SDN 11 Bengkulu Selatan. Data were collected through written tests to measure learning outcomes and classroom observations conducted by the teacher during the learning process. Findings: The results showed that implementing the Make a Match method significantly improved students’ learning outcomes. The percentage of mastery learning increased from 55% in Cycle I to 75% in Cycle II and to 90% in Cycle III. These findings indicate that the Make a Match method is effective in helping students understand Aqidah material, particularly Asmaulhusna, in a more interactive and enjoyable way. Conclusion: The Make a Match method significantly enhances students’ Aqidah learning outcomes and can serve as an effective alternative instructional strategy. Contribution: This study contributes by providing an innovative instructional model that teachers can use to enhance student engagement, motivation, and understanding of Islamic Religious Education in elementary school. It also offers a foundation for further research in similar religious education contexts.</dc:description>
