<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Objective: This study investigates the use of teaching resources and their impact on the quality of Biology education in secondary schools within the Awka South Local Government Area. Method: A descriptive survey design was adopted to gather teacher and student data. A random sampling technique was used to select 38 Biology teachers. Data collection was facilitated using a self-structured 4-point rating scale questionnaire comprising personal information and items related to the study objectives. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data, particularly focusing on the frequency and extent of teaching resource utilization.
Result: The study found varied levels of teaching resource utilization among Biology teachers. Traditional teaching tools such as audio and video recorders, projectors, and microphones were used to a limited extent. In contrast, more innovative resources like organ tissue specimens and multimedia aids were more widely employed. It was also found that consistent use of teaching resources improves students’ understanding of complex Biology concepts and increases their interest and competence in the subject. Additionally, the integration of ICT supports students in accessing current and relevant information. Conclusion: The findings highlight the critical role of teaching resources particularly modern and ICT-based tools in enhancing student engagement, comprehension, and academic performance in Biology. The level of effectiveness largely depends on the type and consistency of teacher resource usage. Contribution: This study provides valuable insights for school administrators and educational policymakers on the importance of resource allocation and teacher training. It recommends equipping educators with adequate training and access to effective teaching aids to promote improved Biology education outcomes in the Awka South Local Government Area.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Continuous Assessment (CA) plays a critical role in shaping students’ learning experiences and academic attitudes. In tertiary institutions, especially those training future educators, understanding the influence of CA on students' learning attitudes is essential for improving instructional practices and learning outcomes. Objective: This study investigated the influence of continuous assessment (CA) on primary education students' attitudes towards learning in tertiary institutions in Anambra State. It also examined contributing factors such as CA practices, resource availability, and student-lecturer ratios. Method: A descriptive research design was employed. Data were collected using a 40-item questionnaire validated by experts. The questionnaire was distributed via Google Forms and shared through social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook groups. A total of 63 correctly completed responses were obtained. The data were extracted, coded in Microsoft Excel, and analyzed using SPSS software through mean and standard deviation calculations. Result: Findings show that CA has a positive impact on students' attitudes by offering regular feedback, fostering self-awareness, and reducing test anxiety. Nonetheless, effective implementation of CA is challenged by limited resources, time constraints, and large student-lecturer ratios. Conclusion: While continuous assessment contributes significantly to improving students' attitudes toward learning, systemic issues must be addressed to maximize its benefits. Contribution: This study provides valuable insights for educational stakeholders on the strengths and challenges of implementing continuous assessment in tertiary education. It underscores the need for collaborative efforts to improve resource allocation and lecturer support. Further research is recommended to investigate other variables affecting students’ learning attitudes in higher education contexts.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: In response to the growing need for student-centered learning approaches in elementary education, the Group Investigation (GI) model offers a collaborative framework that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and meaningful learning. Thematic learning, which integrates multiple subjects around a central theme, benefits from such interactive models that foster deeper understanding and engagement. Objective: This study examines the impact of the Group Investigation (GI) learning model on students' learning outcomes in thematic learning at SD IT UMMI Kota Bengkulu. Method: Using a quantitative experimental approach with a nonequivalent group posttest design, this research compares students' learning outcomes between an experimental class (applying the GI model) and a control class (using conventional methods) through pretests and posttests. Results: The GI model had a significant effect on students' learning outcomes. The mean score of the experimental class (0.46) was higher than that of the control class (0.35), with a confidence interval of the difference ranging from 0.10 to 18.77 at a 5% significance level. This indicates an average learning outcome improvement of 0.10. Conclusion: The GI model is effective in enhancing conceptual understanding, social interaction, collaboration, and critical thinking skills among students. Contribution: This study contributes by recommending the GI model as an innovative teaching strategy and serving as a reference for future research on collaborative learning methods.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Teacher performance evaluation plays a vital role in improving educational quality. However, achieving accuracy, fairness, and effectiveness in such evaluations remains a challenge. Psychometric models offer promising tools to enhance the validity and reliability of teacher assessments. Objective: This study aims to explore the application of psychometric models in evaluating teacher performance and to investigate how these models can improve the overall assessment process. Method: The research involves an in-depth analysis of key psychometric models, including Classical Test Theory (CTT), Item Response Theory (IRT), Generalizability Theory (GT), Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), and Multilevel Modeling (MLM). The integration of these models into teacher evaluation systems is critically examined. Result: Findings indicate that each model offers unique advantages for improving assessment accuracy and reliability. However, limitations such as potential biases, data interpretation challenges, and ethical concerns must be carefully addressed. Contextual factors such as teacher characteristics, institutional policies, and opportunities for professional development significantly affect the outcomes of psychometric-based evaluations. Conclusion: Psychometric models can strengthen teacher evaluation systems when applied thoughtfully and ethically. Their effective use requires alignment with institutional goals and attention to contextual influences. Contribution: This study contributes to the field of educational assessment by synthesizing current knowledge on psychometric models and offering insights into their practical, ethical, and policy-related implications in the context of teacher performance evaluation.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Objective: Islamic Education in elementary schools still uses a classical model, which results in students being less active, not independent, and many failing to achieve the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). Objective: This study aims to examine the implementation of the Talking Stick learning model in improving Islamic Education learning outcomes for students at SD Negeri 95 Bengkulu Selatan. Method: The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research, which consists of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Results: There was a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, the average student score was 65.7 with a mastery percentage of 40%. In Cycle I, the average score increased to 73.1 with a mastery percentage of 55%. In Cycle II, the average score increased further to 83, with a mastery percentage of 90%, indicating that the Talking Stick model is effective in improving student learning outcomes. Conclusion: The application of the Talking Stick model in Islamic Education at SD Negeri 95 Bengkulu Selatan successfully improved student learning outcomes. This improvement is reflected in the increased average scores and mastery percentage, which reached 90% in Cycle II, surpassing the established KKM. Contribution: This study contributes by offering a more effective alternative learning model, namely the Talking Stick model, which teachers can use to enhance students’ active participation, motivation, and learning outcomes in Islamic Education. It is also expected to provide insights for teachers to use more interactive and enjoyable learning models in the classroom.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Background: Learning motivation is a crucial factor influencing students’ academic success, particularly in Islamic Religious Education, which is often perceived as monotonous. Low learning motivation among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 32 Satu Atap Kaur highlights the need for innovative instructional strategies to create an engaging learning environment. Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of icebreaking activities on improving students’ learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education subjects. Method: The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) across two cycles. Data were collected using learning motivation questionnaires and classroom observations. Result: The average student motivation score in the pre-cycle stage was 60.5, with classical completeness reaching only 30%. After implementing icebreaking activities in Cycle I, the average score increased to 68.7, with classical completeness improving to 60%. In Cycle II, the use of more varied, interactive icebreaking activities further increased the average motivation score to 80.2, with classical completeness reaching 90%. These findings demonstrate that icebreaking activities are effective in enhancing students’ learning motivation, fostering a positive classroom atmosphere, and encouraging active participation. Conclusion: Regular integration of icebreaking activities can significantly improve student motivation in Islamic Religious Education. Contribution: This study provides practical insights for teachers on implementing innovative, student-centered learning strategies.</dc:description>

Objective: This study aimed to examine improvements in students’ ability to analyse the meaning and correctly recite al-Asmaul al-Husna through the application of audiovisual media in Islamic Religious Education. Method: The study employed a classroom action research design conducted at SDN 36 Bengkulu Selatan in 2023. The participants consisted of 24 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through classroom observations and achievement tests, while data analysis was conducted by comparing students’ learning outcomes with the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) across learning cycles. Findings: The findings revealed a consistent increase in students’ learning outcomes across three learning cycles. The use of audiovisual media significantly enhanced students’ ability to analyse the meanings of al-Asmaul al-Husna and accurately recite it, as well as their engagement during the learning process. Conclusion: The integration of audiovisual media proved effective in improving learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education, particularly by enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and accuracy in reciting al-Asmaul al-Husna. Contribution: This study offers practical insights for teachers and prospective educators by demonstrating that engaging, technology-based audiovisual media can foster active learning, increase student motivation, and strengthen students’ understanding of Islamic religious concepts.</dc:description>
