Upaya Guru IPS dalam Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter: Studi Deskriptif Analisis di SMP Negeri 15 Kota Bengkulu

This study aims to describe and analyze the efforts of social studies teachers in the implementation of character education at SMP Negeri 15 Kota Bengkulu. This study used a qualitative research design with a descriptive tife. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 15 Kota Bengkulu. Data were collected by in-depth inteviews, document analysis and observation. The data analysis was carried out using Milleas & Huberman’s Interactive Model, which consists of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclution. Based on the research that has been done, the following results were fount: 1) social studies teachers view that character education is important to be implemented in social studies learning in order to instill values in students; 2) there are five main values that teachers instill in social studies learning, namely honesty, responsibility, social care, tolerance and nationalism; 3) the implementation of character education in social studies learning has a positive impact in the form of changes in student behavior and the creation of more meaningful learning
