POSTING ARTICLE POLICY

The International Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy (IJCP) encourages the responsible sharing of scholarly work to promote open scientific dialogue while maintaining the integrity of the peer review and publishing process. This policy aligns with best practices recommended by Scopus-indexed journals and follows ethical guidelines from COPE and relevant international standards.

1. Preprint Policy (Version submitted before peer review)

Authors are allowed to post the preprint version of their manuscript (i.e., the original manuscript submitted before peer review) under the following conditions:

  • Can be shared on personal websites, institutional repositories, or recognized preprint servers.

  • Must clearly indicate that the manuscript is a preprint and has not undergone peer review.

  • Once accepted or published, authors must update the preprint with a full citation and DOI linking to the final published version in IJCP.

2. Accepted Manuscript (Postprint - after peer review, before copyediting and typesetting)

Authors may archive the accepted version of the manuscript under these terms:

  • May be deposited in institutional repositories or funder repositories immediately after acceptance.

  • Must include the following statement:
“This is the accepted version of the manuscript that has been peer-reviewed but not yet copyedited or typeset. The final published version is available at https://ojs.aeducia.org/index.php/ijcp/issue

  • Should not be formatted to resemble the journal’s final published layout.

3. Published Version (Version of Record)

The final published version (Version of Record) is the official version formatted and typeset by IJCP. This version may be shared under the following conditions:

  • May not be uploaded to third-party platforms (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu) unless published under an Open Access license.

  • Authors may share the link (DOI) directing readers to the article on the official IJCP website.

  • For Open Access articles, the license terms CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 must be respected and clearly indicated.

4. Licensing and Open Access

  • Articles published under Open Access will carry a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, allowing broader sharing and reuse.

  • Authors must comply with license terms when distributing their work.

  • For subscription-based articles, sharing is limited to preprint or accepted versions as outlined above.

5. Citation Requirements

When posting any version of the manuscript, authors must:

  • Provide a full citation to the published article in IJCP.

  • Include the DOI link to the article on the journal’s website.

  • Clearly indicate the version being shared (e.g., Preprint, Accepted Manuscript).

By adhering to this Posting Article Policy, International Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy (IJCP) supports ethical dissemination of knowledge while complying with Scopus indexing standards and publication ethics.
