AIMS, FOCUS AND SCOPE

Aims: JGMDS aims to promote excellence in the field by disseminating high-quality research findings and providing a global platform for researchers, academicians, professionals, counselors, psychiatrists, college students, and education practitioners to explore, share, and discuss emerging issues and developments related to gender and millennium development.

Focus and Scope: JGMDS focuses on gender and millennium development issues, exploring key topics related to gender and development within local, national, and global frameworks. The scope includes, but is not limited to, the following areas: 

  • Gender Issues: These topics of study, which focus on the analysis of gender identity and gender representation, encompass fields such as education, religion, literature, linguistics, human geography, history, political science, archaeology, economics, sociology, cultural anthropology, psychology, philosophy, media studies, human development, law, public health/medicine, human rights, and other topics relevant to gender.

  • SOGIESC Approach (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, Sex Characteristics): This study critically examines the understanding and protection of individual rights related to sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics, with the aim of eliminating stigma and discrimination and ensuring equality and dignity for all individuals.

  • Millennium Development Goals (MDGs): (1) To eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; (2) To achieve universal primary education; (3) To promote gender equality and empower women; (4) To reduce child mortality; (5) To improve maternal health; (5) To combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases; (6) To ensure environmental sustainability; (7) To develop a global partnership for development.
