RETRACTION, WITHDRAWAL, AND CORRECTION POLICY

The Jurnal Indonesia Pendidikan Profesi Guru (JIPPG) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity, accountability, and credibility across all published works. In upholding these standards, we follow internationally recognized principles of publication ethics and best practices in scholarly publishing.
We acknowledge that errors or ethical violations may occasionally be identified post-publication. To address this, we have established this comprehensive policy outlining the explicit protocols for handling manuscript withdrawals, article retractions, corrections, expressions of concern, and addenda. All actions taken by JIPPG are grounded in the following guidelines:

Policy Statements and Procedures
1. Withdrawal of Manuscripts (Pre-Publication)
Manuscript withdrawal refers to the formal removal of a submitted manuscript from the editorial and publication workflow before it is officially published.

  • Grounds for Withdrawal: Withdrawals are accepted solely for objective and scientifically valid reasons, such as newly discovered critical methodological flaws, data errors that invalidate the study's conclusions, or formal authorship disputes that cannot be reconciled.
  • Ethics and Compliance: Authors are strongly discouraged from requesting withdrawals once the peer-review process is underway, as significant editorial and peer-review resources have been committed. Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals is a direct breach of publishing ethics. Unilateral withdrawal requests without legitimate scientific grounds may result in an administrative submission embargo for the involved authors for a period of up to two years. No monetary withdrawal fees are imposed.
  • Procedure: Authors must submit a formal written request signed by all co-authors to the Editor-in-Chief via email, clearly explaining the rationale for withdrawal. The Editor-in-Chief will review the request and issue a formal response within 7 business days. Upon approval, the submission is officially closed and archived in internal editorial logs for transparent record-keeping; it will never be made publicly accessible.

2. Retraction of Articles (Post-Publication)
To preserve the reliability of the scholarly literature, the journal will issue a formal public notice if a published work is found to contain fatal flaws. Retraction occurs after an article has been published, under circumstances where severe ethical violations or catastrophic scientific errors render the research invalid.

  • Grounds for Retraction: Confirmed data fabrication or falsification; unambiguous plagiarism or redundant publication; copyright infringement; or severe non-compliance with ethical standards involving human subjects.
  • Procedure: The Editor-in-Chief will initiate an inquiry following COPE flowcharts upon receiving a verified allegation. If a retraction is warranted, a separate, formally citable Retraction Notice detailing the reasons will be published and assigned its own DOI. In accordance with digital archiving standards, the original article is not removed from the platform; instead, the PDF is retained and prominently watermarked with "RETRACTED" on every page, and the HTML abstract page is clearly updated with a direct link to the Retraction Notice.

3. Correction of Articles (Post-Publication)
The journal provides a formal mechanism to update and rectify inadvertent minor mistakes discovered after an article has been released that do not compromise the overarching scientific conclusions of the study.

  • Grounds for Correction: Minor typographical, numerical, or mathematical errors; inadvertent misattribution in author affiliations or citations; or non-material labeling errors in figures or tables.
  • Procedure: Errors may be flagged by authors, readers, or editorial board members. If approved by the Editor-in-Chief, a formal Correction (Erratum or Corrigendum) will be published as a separately citable item with a unique DOI, bi-directionally linked to the original article. The original article remains online and is transparently updated with a notice pointing to the published correction.

4. Expressions of Concern and Addenda
Additional editorial notices may be issued post-publication to safeguard readers and the academic record:

  • Expression of Concern: Issued by the Editor-in-Chief when substantial allegations of misconduct or serious scientific irregularities are brought forward and remain unresolved after a preliminary inquiry, or when an institutional investigation is prolonged. This alerts the academic community while the final outcome is determined.
  • Addendum: Issued when essential, newly developed context or complementary data emerges that significantly enhances reader understanding without altering any of the original study's conclusions. It is published as a distinct, linked item with its own DOI.

Transparency, Communication, and Compliance
All corrective actions, including corrections, retractions, addenda, and expressions of concern, will be transparently documented, assigned a unique DOI, and clearly communicated to readers, authors, and indexing databases to ensure absolute accountability.
All editorial interventions are carried out in full compliance with global publication ethics, legal provisions, and intellectual property rights. JIPPG takes its responsibility to safeguard the completeness and permanent integrity of the scholarly record with the utmost seriousness, adhering firmly to international publishing best practices.
