ARCHIVE POLICY

1. INTRODUCTION
Indonesian Journal of Innovative Teaching and Learning (IJITL) is committed to the long-term preservation and permanent accessibility of the scholarly research it publishes. We recognize the importance of maintaining a complete and enduring record of academic contributions for future researchers, historians, and the public. This policy outlines the measures that IJITL and its publisher undertake to ensure the continued availability, authenticity, and integrity of our published content over time.

IJITL adheres to the guidelines and best practices outlined in the following policies:

2. POLICY DETAIL
2.1 Digital Preservation Services (LOCKSS & CLOCKSS)
To strengthen preservation reliability, IJITL participates in internationally recognized digital archiving systems:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): IJITL enables LOCKSS harvesting, which allows participating libraries to collect, validate, and preserve the journal's published content through a distributed archiving system that ensures long-term availability.
  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS): IJITL participates in the CLOCKSS global archive, a community-governed dark archive that ensures perpetual access. In the event of a trigger event, such as the journal no longer being available online, CLOCKSS will release the archived content to the public to maintain scholarly access.

2.2 Publisher-Managed Archiving and Website Access

  • All articles published in IJITL are permanently accessible on the official journal website: https://ojs.aeducia.org/index.php/ijitl/.
  • The website and all published content are regularly backed up as part of the publisher’s information management and disaster recovery procedures. Backups include redundant, encrypted storage across multiple secure locations.

2.3 Author Self-Archiving
IJITL publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license and encourages author self-archiving to maximize visibility and impact. Authors may deposit:

  • Submitted Version (Preprint): May be posted at any time on personal websites, institutional repositories, or recognized preprint servers.
  • Accepted Manuscript (AAM/Postprint): May be deposited immediately upon acceptance in institutional or subject repositories and personal websites.
  • Version of Record (VoR): The final published PDF may be deposited immediately upon publication in repositories or academic platforms.

2.3 Persistent Identifiers (DOIs)
All IJITL articles are assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure persistent, reliable linking, even if the journal’s URL structure changes. The DOI should be used in all citations and repository records.

3. TECHNICALITIES TO ACHIEVE AND MATERIALIZE THE POLICIES

  • Publication Formats: IJITL primarily publishes in PDF (version of record), with additional web formats where feasible. Source and production files (e.g., XML/HTML where available) are archived internally to support preservation and future migration.
  • Backup Procedures: Regular automated backups of the journal website, database, and file stores are conducted according to documented schedules and retention policies. Periodic restore tests verify recoverability.
  • Integration with LOCKSS/CLOCKSS: The journal platform is configured to expose content for LOCKSS harvesting and to participate in CLOCKSS for dark archiving and trigger-based public release if necessary.
  • File Integrity & Fixity: Checksum generation and periodic fixity checks are implemented to detect and remediate file corruption.
  • Website Maintenance & Security: The journal site is actively maintained to ensure performance, accessibility, and security, with planned maintenance windows minimized and announced when possible.
  • Policy Review: This Archive Policy is reviewed periodically and updated to reflect evolving best practices, standards, and preservation services.
